From the ancient city of Aleppo, nestled along the Silk Road in Syria, comes one of the world’s oldest and most revered soaps. For over a millennium, Aleppo soap has symbolised purity, tradition, and gentle care—crafted from just two noble oils: olive and laurel berry.
This soap has been traditionally made for hundreds of years using a hot saponification method in huge vats as pictured It is made with olive oil, laurel berry oil and lye, before being poured out over paper covered floors for the drying phase.
At Showalux, we pay homage to this timeless ritual, infusing our own artistry via the cold process method.
